Trip to the USA

It’s confirmed. We will be coming to the USA as an entire family this summer. We will first be with my dad and his family in Jacksonville, Fl. June 22-July 12, and then we will be in the Boston area July 12-25.

The last time we were in the USA as a family was 12 years ago and Gosia wasn’t born yet. I’d like for this trip to be a time to relax and enjoy meeting family and friends, and doing fun things as a family.

We have a need for transportation to get around while in Massachusetts. We are looking for someone who would be able to lend us a car for our time here, even if just for a day or two.

If anyone has any great ideas what we can do with the kids please let me know. For years the children have been wanted to visits the States and they are very excited now.

We still ask for your prayers for all the details and a number of things that still need to be taken care of, including the finances that are still needed to make this trip possible.

Pastor Krzysztof’s brother

Pastor Krzysztof’s brother, Tomek Majdyło died yesterday at the age of 33. After a simple sinus operation he caught some type of bacteria that attacked his lungs. After fighting it for almost 1 month he died. This is a real difficult time for pastor Krzysztof. He had already been going through a difficult time with having to leave as director of the Bible school and a number of really difficult situations that I won’t go into here. Please pray for God’s comfort and for the church he leads, as everyone in the church was very close to Tomek.

Christian Businessmen’s Fellowship

In May we held another meeting for local businessmen. Two people from our fellowship shared, one on the topic of obtaining finances for business operation and the other talked about sharing the gospel at work and in your business. People from other parts of Poland are interested in what we are doing. I have received emails and phone calls from businessmen wanting to learn more, and a few people had made special trips to meet with me.

Kutno conference

In May I was one of the main speakers at the 3 day revival conference in Kutno in central Poland. I taught a one day seminar on healing the sick and I had the participants then put the teaching into practice. They met with the sick and a few people were instantly healed from pains that they had. I prayed for one man that was completely deaf from birth and after he started to hear a little in his right ear. During the conference breaks people sought prayer for healing and God touched many people instantly, including a number of people with back pains. I took Adam from our home group along with me. He also had a number of opportunities to pray for people and he was so excited that God used him to touch 4-5 people.

On the last day of the conference I got into the car to go to lunch and another car pulled up and a man asked to talk to me. It turns out he has incredible fears – fears of closed places and fear of open places. The last time he left his apartment was 3 years ago and he had been in bed for the past 6 months and his family thought his life was over. When he heard though about the conference, he knew he would be healed there. He sat for 3 days in his car in the parking lot with the windows rolled down to hear the lectures and the music from the conference hall – from 9am to 9pm! He was too afraid to leave the car! After praying he got out of the car and walked around the parking lot, and then down the street. I didn’t know about his health problems and that years ago he had been in a car accident and broke his legs in 20 different places. That day he was set free and started to walk. His wife cried uncontrollably. Later he sent me pictures to prove that he is no longer a prisoner of his bedroom. Here he is a few days later.

Christian Businessmen’s Fellowship

In February after a lot of planning, talking with Christian businessmen and preparing the overall vision I started a Christian Businessmen’s Fellowship. The vision is to create a place where Christian business people can meet together, encourage one another, be informed of and use each other’s services, share experiences and challenges, receive godly teaching on business and finances, grow together in their faith and invite employees, clients and suppliers into a godly business atmosphere to be exposed to the gospel.

Our first meeting was held in a restaurant for breakfast in Gdynia and attended by 32 business people. Aside from sharing breakfast together, I taught on using finances for the building of God’s kingdom, and a lawyer taught on how to prevent being taken advantageous of by unreliable clients. There was also a time of worship and prayer for one another. At our second meeting at a café in Gdansk we had coffee while I taught on keys to running a godly business. It was attended by 27 people.

After the first 2 meeting about 12 people who did not know each earlier contracted the services of another brother or sister. People wrote emails such as:- Great idea worthy of imitation in other cities.

- The meeting was very good and needed.
- I really liked and highly benefited from the legal advice of which I had no idea.
- It was a super event. I love it.
- I prayed for a long business about meetings related to the Kingdom of God.

- I am glad that I could be here today among God's people and I cannot wait for the next meeting

Bible school

As I wrote in the last newsletter, the Bible school was suspended until the new school year. One of the students, Adam, has been attending our home group and we see him growing in the Lord. The students that did not finish are listening to lectures that I and other teachers recorded on CD from the previous year. They will be finishing in June and hopefully a new school year will start in September.

New church home

We have now settled into our new church home – the Baptist church in Gdynia. I first came here 20 years ago and lived in a small studio apartment in the church basement. Since then the church has changed pastors and has grown. I took awhile, but we feel at home here. Asia and Gosia are often signing on the worship team, and I play the tambourine, bongos and other percussion instruments. The worship and teaching is excellent here. Renata is involved in a women’s fellowship for moms of teenagers. She has been very active leading a number of non-believers to the meetings. The church has outgrown their building and has been meeting in a hotel. The hotel no longer wants to rent, but just today we received confirmation of a new larger hall to rent for a lesser price. In May we will start seekers’ meetings for the un-churched. Please pray for the Lord’s leading in these new situations.

Pastor Jurek

Not much has changed in Pastor Jurek’s situation. Although he has completed treatment for Lyme disease (borreliosis), since it was not treated for many years, it destroyed the muscles in his body. He is still totally paralyzed and breathes through a respirator and is fed through a feeding tube. The only muscles he has control over are his eyelids and he communicates through blinking his eyes to form words and sentences while someone points to the alphabet. He is very aware and mentally sharp. His wife just called me to report after a doctor’s visit. The doctor confirmed that most of the muscles in his body do not exist anymore and to be prepared for him to pass at any moment in the near future. Please continue to pray for his complete recovery and strength for his wife Alina. In spite of his sickness, the church continues to be strong in the Lord.

Family news & trip to the USA

We are thinking about coming to the States with our entire family this summer. The last time we were in the USA as a family was 12 years ago. Karolina was 4 years old, Asia was 2 years old and Gosia wasn’t born yet. We are planning to spend around 2-3 weeks with my mom in Massachusetts and 2-3 weeks with my dad in Florida. We ask for your prayers for all the details and a number of things that still need to be taken care of. In Massachusetts we will need a place for our family to live and also a car to use. We are also trusting God to supply the large amount that is needed for the trip to be possible.

Renata continues to attend a meeting for mothers of teens. She has continues to witness to other un-saved mothers there. Karolina (16 years old) is taking tests this week to be admitted into the art high school. Asia (14) and Gosia (11) continue to do well in school and enjoy signing in church. Renata’s uncle is in a special rehabilitation center for the next 6 weeks and we are looking to place him in a care facility if there is no improvement.
