Revival Conference

November 13-14 I was one of the main speakers for the annual Revival conference held in Kutno (central Poland). I conducted 3 financial workshops on the topics of “Credit cards, loans, debt and borrowing money”, “Tithing, giving and generosity” and “Ways to increase income and cut costs”. There was a question and answer period afterwards. I also spoke twice during the main sessions of the conference, on the topic of “Possessing a Godly character” and “Rise up mighty warrior” based on God’s word to Gideon, calling him to be all that God intended him to be. The conference was attended by about 80 people. I had an opportunity to talk with a number of people during the breaks and also pray with people. I was very encouraged by seeing what God was doing in the lives of the participants. One person I prayed with was instantly healed.

Bible school

Over the last 2 months there were a few meeting to discuss the situation of the Bible school. There were no new students for the new school year, and school fees of second year students did not allow the school to pay its basic costs for the building, not to mention covering other necessary costs. Additionally there was conflict regarding the director of the school, Pastor Krzysztof, who unfortunately was forced to resign. The new director of the school made a decision to close the school for this school year and to prepare to start a new school year next October, advertising and recruiting now for future students. As a result of this decision, those students who are finishing the second year will no longer have any classes. It was decided that they will finish the school by listening to last year’s lecture which were recorded on CD’s and that each student will be assigned to a local church and pastor for practical work and service in the area churches. One of the students, Adam, will be attending our home group and I will assist in helping him complete his practical studies. This decision also means that those who were teaching and ministering at the school, including myself, will have nothing to do until next October. The decision to change the director and also to close the school for this year was a very sad experience for me and the rest of the staff, not to mention very painfully wounding for pastor Krzysztof who put his heart into the school. Please pray for this situation.

Christian Businessmen’s Fellowship

A number of years ago God had placed on my heart the need to start a fellowship for Christian businessmen. The timing though never seemed to be right. As such, I wanted God to confirm when the right time would be. About 2 months ago I felt a strong urge that now was the time. That same day a Christian lawyer came to me and said: “Jerry, I think you should start a fellowship for Christian businessmen”. Another brother also said it would be good if I would start something. Soon afterwards it was known that I will not be teaching at the Bible school. I shared the idea with a few brothers in business that I wanted to include in a leadership & counsel group, and each one was very positive about it. I know that in the USA and Europe many such organizations exist. There is though no such type of fellowship in the northern part of Poland. This Wednesday will be a meeting of the core group I selected where I will share my ideas and ask their opinions. From there we will plan something for local Christian businessmen. Please pray for God’s leading in this. I have many ideas, but I only want to work towards those that are truly from God.

Family news

I’d like to thank everyone who prayed from my shoulder. The daily pain has left and I seem to have more movement in my arm after going through rehabilitation. I have a few more treatments scheduled for next month.
Renata is attending a meeting every two weeks for mothers of teens. She has invited 5 other women – 4 who are not believers, to the meeting where they share about raising teens using God’s standards. Now it is an evangelistic meeting! Praise God.
Our daughters are doing fine. Karolina will now take preparation exams before the real ones at the end of the year. The exams will determine if she can continue in the Art school. Asia and Gosia are doing well in school and look forward to Christmas break.

Renata’s uncle

Since our last newsletter Renata’s uncle came down with pneumonia. On top of that he had a heart attack. By the way he looked, we thought it was his last minutes here on earth, as they fought to save his life at the hospital. That was November 16. Now, less than 1 month later it seems like he is getting stronger and healthier, he has increasing movement in his arms and legs that were paralyzed. God is gracious and has given him yet another chance to repent and turn to Jesus. Still though his heart is hard and does not acknowledge that God exists. We continue to ask for your prayers for his salvation, and what to do after he leaves the center.

Christmas greetings

We wish all of you a blessed and peaceful time remembering God’s great love for us. As we look back to the birth of our Savior, let us also look forward to the time we will see him face to face.
May God bless you,
Jerry, Renata, Karolina, Asia & Gosia Dean

Baptism in the Baltic Sea

Some time ago Mikolaj and Tamila started coming to our home group. They are from the Ukraine. There had been some very difficult legal situations that I offered to pray for. God answered the prayer the very next day about a situation that they tried to change for the past 6 years! This led them to make a strong commitment to Christ. Immediately Mikolaj, who smoked all his life quit with no problem. This July they asked me to baptize them. What a day of joy it was for them and the start of new beginnings! Another young women 2 nights before the baptism felt the Lord urge her to do be baptized also. The baptism took place in the Baltic Sea.

Wedding

Pawel and Alicja from our home group were married this past month. At wedding were many unsaved family members. I gave a message about the love of God, comparing the saving grace of God’s love to the love that should be in marriage, mixing in an evangelistic message. Pawel’s 20 year old brother admitted to him that he was trying his best not to cry. After the ceremony I had an occasion to talk with a few family members, including Pawel’s dad. I was able to share some of my testimony and I think God started to do something in his life. Pawel’s parents live about 3 hours from us and have invited us to come and visit them when we have time.

Starogard Gdanski

I had an invitation to speak to a group of people who are trying to start a church in their city, about a 45 minutes drive from Gdynia. I was asked to speak on spiritual gifts. After some teaching we had a practical time of praying and ministering to one another

David’s Army in Gdansk

I led a Saturday seminar on the Baptism of the Holy Spirit for Pastor Krzysztof’s church. A number of people came to the sessions and then afterwards there was a time of praying for people that wanted to receive spiritual gifts. A number of people were crying or felt burdens being lifted from them during the time of prayer.

Revival Conference

On November 12-14 I will be one of the main speakers for the annual Revival conference held in Kutno (central Poland). I will have 2 main sessions and also 3 workshops on the topic of handling finances and getting out of debt. Most of the people attending will be pastors and leaders from very small churches (5-20 people in their church). Please pray that I would be open to hearing what the Lord would have me say to them in the main sessions and workshops.

Bible school

Unfortunately there is a lack of new students for the upcoming school year. This has been a problem with most of the Bibles school here in Poland. Over the past few years many schools closed for the lack of new students. Since our school is a 2 year school, most of the students are returning for the second year. The school started October 11th. My first classes will not be until maybe December. Please pray for the students attending and also for new students to sign up (new students can start any time of the year). Please pray also for the school’s financing.

Prayer needed for Jerry’s healing

Since June I have been experiencing pain in my left shoulder. I had received some therapeutic massages to try to bring relief. Unfortunately the pain is increasing and is spreading to the rest of my arm and back. I can’t lift my left arm up must beyond being extended straight out. The doctor suspects some spine and nerve damage. I am scheduled to see a specialist on November 16. Please pray for complete healing and relief from pain.

Renata’s uncle

June 1st Renata’s 69 year old uncle had a stroke which left him paralyzed on his left side and he was in the hospital for 1 month. He then stayed with us and we were taking care of him for 3 weeks - washing him, helping him walk - basically doing everything for him. Then he experienced a second stroke that left him paralyzed on his right side and he went back to the hospital and has been there for 2 months. We have been going everyday to the hospital to feed him, shave him, brings pampers, etc. We are his only family. We need to bring him extra food and feed him, for what he gets at the hospital and the care for patients there is not the best. He is a very, very difficult person to get along. He complains, moans and criticizes non-stop. He has just been released this week from the hospital and will be in a rehabilitation center to the end of December. We ask for your prayers for his salvation, for he is an atheist. Please also pray about what to do after he leaves the center. He will not be able to live on his own unless he starts to walk and can use his hands.

Family

My dad and his wife for the first time came to visit us in Poland. It is the first time that they saw Gosia (now ten years old). We had a wonderful time together. We felt such a joy that they could be with us and we had an opportunity to get to know them better. My dad is on a lot of medication and suffers from 5 different sicknesses, so it was a real surprise that he was able to come.

Polish National Tragedy

On April 10, 2010 Polish President Lech Kaczynski was killed when the plane he was traveling in with his wife and a Polish delegation crashed at a western Russian airport.

There are no survivors. Ninety-six people died in the plane crash. The president had been traveling with a Polish delegation to Russia for the 70th anniversary of the massacre of Polish prisoners of war in the village of Katyn. Over 22,000 Polish officers were executed there by Russians during World War II. The plane was approaching the airport at Smolensk, Russia for the fourth approach in heavy fog -- just a few miles east of Katyn -- and hit some trees at the end of the runway.

Together with the death of the President and his wife, many elite of Polish politics were killed, including the members of the President’s cabinet, the top heads of the Polish Armed forces, the head of the Polish National Bank, the head of the National Memorial Institute, former president of Poland during World War 2, and many top politicians, as well as families of murdered Polish officers who came to take part in the memorial service.

The nation of Poland underwent deep shock and national mourning for 9 days. People in every city gathered to light candles and lay flowers in memory of those who died. Pictured below is a group from our church also obseving the time of mourning, using using it to lead the crowd there in prayer for Poland and the families that have lost someone.

Please pray for Poland, the families of those who have died, and that the Lord would use the situation to bring change to Politics and revival to the nation. I believe that in the midst of the tragedy that God has a great plan to use this to bring about His will for the nation.

New presidential elections

Right now the head of the parliament, Bronislaw Komorowski took over the responsibility of president until a new president is elected. There are currently 24 candidates and the first round of elections will be on June 20th. Please pray that one who fears God will be out into office. Pray for Bronislaw Komorowski who will be running for president. Born again believers in Poland feel that he is God’s man for this time. Also pray for him as he right now is electing new people in government and the armed forces to fill all the vacant offices of those who died.

Change of church

About a year ago we felt that the church where we were attending had gone seriously astray from the standards of God’s Word. I would not like to publish the details on the internet, but there is information in the newsletter. After almost one year of trying to work out this conflict in the church, we were left with no choice but to resign and look for a new church. At the moment we have not made a decision of where to attend, so please pray for us as we seeks God’s will.

Preaching in Gdansk

Recently I preached in Gdansk at a church called “David’s Army” (where we have attended now a few times). I was asked to talk about using God’s wisdom in cutting costs and looking for ways to increase income. I taught using a power point presentation that I put together. Pastor Krzysztof has asked me to preach again in on Saturday, May 22 on the topic of the baptism of the Holy Spirit. He has asked me if I could conduct once a month for his church a Saturday meeting and expects that a lot of people will be attending not only from his church, but from a few others also.

Home group

The house group that we are leading for new and non-believers continues to meet every Friday evening. We have had the opportunity to invite 5 times guest speakers who were guest lecturers at the Bible school. One couple who attend, Tamila and Mikolaj, are from the Ukraine. They have really grown in the faith. They have asked me to baptize them in the sea once the temperature is a little warmer. A second couple, Alicja and Pawel are also growing fast in the faith. Pawel converted a few months ago in our home. They are planning to get married in September and have asked me to give the main message at the ceremony. Renata and myself are giving them pre-marital counseling. Almost everyone in our home group is also visiting us during the week just to talk one on one. Pray for us as we have recently invited 5 other non-believers to join us, that they would accept the invitation and that we could share the gospel also with them.

Bible school

I continue to teach at the Bible school daily 2 classes. These 2 classes take much of my day. First preparing lessons from my own materials, correcting homework daily, preparing quizzes and tests, an also spending time with the students helping them with their daily problems. I have just finished teaching on the book of Revelation, and now I am teaching on the church and everything concerning the church – structure, ministries, gifting, the mission and methods, authority and submission, etc.

Family news

Our girls are growing, and now our middle daughter – Asia, will be finishing 6th grade. According to the Polish school system, she needs to take an exam, and then look for a junior high school that she can get into with her grades. She wants to apply to the art school where Karolina currently is. It requires a high level of talent and also academic skills. A second school that she would like to try for is a private school which is a 20 minute bus ride from our house. There are lots of plusses to this school, but the one minus is having the finances to pay for it. Please pray with us for the right choice of schools that would be the best for Asia. Gosia is doing well in the 3rd grade.
